Rhaegar may of had other mental issues though as he was deeply affected by "the shadow of Summerhall". Nothing serious of course, still an idiot in some ways though.

Yep.. I may have been abused by that "melancholy" side of his personality, who makes him looking veeery clever. (He's still smarter than that king who swallowed a pot of wildfire, "I'll be a drag-BROUUUF" ... maybe not 8D)

I think all of GoT's character sometimes makes nonsenses, nobody is perfect, for a Targaryen, he wasn't as mad as Aerys for example..

Yea, I know, he wasn't insane. All is a serious hyperbole there. Few have ever done things as foolish as him. It's not about being perfect, but being sensible.
