I could swear when I read "Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" that the Zoogs were described as "flitting about" people's heads and shoulders.  To me that implied they had wings.  Then the CALL OF CTHULHU rpg came along and just showed some Star-Nosed Mole thingies as Zoogs.  Your cutie-pie Zoog looks more like my idea of one (except, like I said, I thought they had wings).  Maybe I'm remembering wrong . . .
